Networking

There are a lot of people at the NLM that I really admire and would like to impress.  Lately it seems like I keep running into many of those people in the bathroom and they all seem to want to stop and chat.  It's so awkward.

Museum Day

Carina came to visit me this weekend, which was awesome.  We walked a lot, talked a lot, ate some food, went to some museums.  Highlights include:

National Portrait Gallery

This photo does not even come close to doing justice to the scale and the intensity of the painting.    Yes, it's true James, we ladies love you and your classy classy self.

They have some pretty sweet dioramas.

Not that I really need more shoes, but I'm contemplating treating myself with a bit of money my grandmother left me.  Now that I'm an adult that means I get to be frivolous sometimes, right?

 

You'll Lose a Good Thing

I love this and was lucky enough to see Barbara Lynn at the Kennedy Center earlier this week.  She still sounds so good it gave me chills.
